Whilst on our first tour of Europe we stayed in Livigno, Italy. Take the road out of Livigno towards Switzerland in the direction of St Moritz. Watch out for teams of cyclists during the summer this a popular base for Pro cycling teams training. Once out of Livigno the road climbs into the mountains. Lots of twisties and sweeping bends to keep interest up and once out of town not much in the way of car traffic. Just past the Swiss border turn left towards Tirano and the scenery gets even better and the roads are a dream to ride on. Valleys and lakes to take in on your way down into Tirano for a coffee break ready for the next leg of the day.
