Very nice views by the mediterranean sea. Road surface is pretty good, lots of corners up and down. What a nice road, what a nice road... I started in GI-681 from Llagostera to Tossa de Mar which is also well asphalted, faster but also curvy.

I have been driving through all routes in Catalonia since 15 years already, and this one is my fauvorite route, just because of the views and relax than transmit you. Probably there are many other routes to drive faster but no one with this panoramic to the sea.
If you are in a long trip, you cant miss it!
I have open Youth Hostel in Tossa de Mar and at the moment I am busy but I promise to make a video riding my Honda Africa Twin on this amazing route as soon as possible to share it with all of you

Did it again and again and again.... still amazing! Also this year. Only minus was the temperature of 38 degrees celcius in the shadow.... I started melting in my leather suit.

Just got back from doing this road in June. Great views, road and surface. Virtually every type of corner except a long fast sweeper. We did the road from east to west without stopping. Mid week and mid morning and had very little traffic that spoiled the fun. Did have 1 coach but that was dispatched with quickly.

I shot on board video of the full run which can be seen at the below url.

Been there, done that! Best road I have ever driven, and again and again and again.... this one was worth driving 1500 kms from the netherlands to Spain!

Added vids of this route. Not fast riding but done just to illustrate how good the road is. Enjoy.

Ive been in 2006, with my car (ohhhhh!). As i drove it i was bitening myself because i hadnt my bike there! People say that in the 30km from San Feliu to Tossa there are 365 curves, one for a day of the year.

Its a must if youre in the area. But beware of it in summer, because there are some view points and tourists turn in and out without any warning.

Glad you enjoyed it Rod. My write up above is actually two rolled into one, thats why its so long winded. I wrote my own review, and added to someone elses and they somehow both ended up here lol. Get the photos on Rod, and of course the video. Just mail the photos and Dave will do the rest. Good luck.

Just got back from Spain and WOW , what a cracking peice of road . Managed to film the section from Sant Fileu (Spelling Rodney) to Tossa Del Mar , will try and send it to the sight so people can view . I rode pretty hard through this section and lost the rear brake completely ---- you have been warned !

Further to my inital review, I revisited this stretch recently (May 06) and it's still as good as ever!! If you do the stretch down to Lloret de Mar you'll get more of the same, but the corners are generally a bit faster and more open. Same fantastic quality tarmac, but unfortunately a bit more traffic.

The photos aren't too clever because most were taken from the back of the bike by my son who was holding on for grim death! Enjoy.
This road really is an exceptional stretch of tarmac on the Costa Brava. In fact, I would say it is one of THE best stretches of coast roads in the Costas. I rode it with a lot of luggage and a pillion but that did not detract from the enjoyment of this immensly twisty route.
It offers stunning views of the Med as it snakes it's way along pine-clad cliffs on it's way to Lloret De Mar. There really are no straights to speak of, and if knee down is your thing I suggest you take a spare pair of knee sliders with you, cos they'll take a hammering every few yards. It really is corner, after corner, after corner, for about 30k. Many of those are hairpins that'll really get the adrenalin going.
The road is that good that we turned around and did it again. Guys, I really can't stress enough how this is a 'MUST DO ROAD' if you are in the area.
Sports 600? This is for you. Pfff, who am I kidding, if you've got two wheels you'll never forget it, no matter what type of bike you ride. Not many PHOTO'S and most taken on the run so not perfect.
If you've ridden this route please add your comments, i'd like to think it is not only me that enjoyed it so much.
Without doubt THE BEST road I have EVER ridden. I cannot stress enough how much you are missing if you miss out on this one. I read about it some years back in a bike magazine that rated it in the top ten of European roads and I've yearned to ride it ever since.
Well, in June 05 I finally managed to tour the Costa Brava and specifically headed for this road. Myself on a CBR1000F, with son as pillion, and a mate on his ZX12R. We sat eating ice-cream in San Feliu and I briefed my mate on what to expect as I had travelled it before by car. We left San Feliu and within a few minutes my grin was spread right across my face. Left, Right, Left, Right etc etc etc for 13-ish miles??
Pine clad hills with stunning views of the Med. Not that you have time to enjoy the scenery, as concentration is paramount to doing your best Rossi impersonation. 5 minutes in and I'm flying, Rossi has no chance of passing and is eating my dust. A quick glance at the speedo and.......?? 40?? bloody 40?? I must be moving faster than that?? It feels like. But in truth, this road is so twisty you'll struggle to get beyond 50 or 60 on it's fastest sections. But it's not the speed, it's them countless glorious hairpins, bloody hundreds of em, and all made of stickie Spanish tarmac. And when you get to the end you'll want to turn around and do it again. I did, so...err, I did!

P.S. Orson, if you read this, you must visit it. Your photography skills far outweigh mine.

I rode this route in the summer of 2004 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Glad to see it appear here. Watch out for a few adverse cambers, the odd gravel-strewn corner and animals roaming free, otherwise enjoy!

Absolutely stunning piece of coast road - not a single straight section. The road twists and turns its way along the Costa Brava coast for 13 miles, and at the end you'll want to turn back and do it all over again. Loads of places to stop and take in the scenery, lovely smooth tarmac, and if you do it on a summer's evening no traffic. Bumped into another Brit biker who said it was more fun than the Nurburgring!!
