Suits adventure riders - great views and some fantastic photo opportunities
There's still some roadworks on the Georgetown end but rapidly improving, but the gem is the Forsayth to Einasleigh road, over the range. Nobody around, but there would be critters around Kangaroo o'clock so be careful then. The pub at Einasleigh is worth a stop for sure, maybe the night if that suits (they are renting rooms again). Check out the gorge while you're there. Any other road back out to a highway is dirt from Einasleigh but with the Kidston solar farm the road is kept in very good condition. Enjoy
lots of very tight twisties, open straights, dips and crests
Gold Coast up to Queen Mary Falls
The route runs southwest from Brisbane, and west of Canungra to Beaudesert then thru to Queensland border – New South Wales.
this is my favourite ride to do in north qld. start off with a leisurely ride up the palmerstone highway. theres a lookout or two to see along the way. across the top of the Tablelands for a bit and backdown the gillies to gordonvale. across the back of the city to smithfield and up the kuranda range. feel free to head in to the kuranda shopping centre to check out their goodies.keep going up along tablelands to mareeba and turn right. head across tablelands and see all kinds of goodies. stop at the pub at mt malloy for a decent meal. ride down the mt malloy range. throw a right hander and head down past port douglas and back to smithfield in cairns. will take a few hours to complete and its great fun. the twisty roads on the kuranda range as well as the mt malloy leave the twisty roads in brisbane area at mt tamborine and mt nebo and mt glorious and mt mee for dust. and the nice scenic trip back from port Douglas to smithfield is the closest thing you will find in north qld to a road like the great ocean road outside Melbourne. have fun and enjoy tropical north queensland
Sick of the motorway and keen for a run through the hills.
mountainous
Small section of curves, pleasant.
Nice little rural section, can be a bit narrow with some mess on the road
something different from the usual range rides on the coast, Places for meal/coffee/Beers @ Cooroy, Pomona, Kin Kin, Imbil, Kenilworth, Mapleton about 220 km loop Approx
Good ride, some nice corner section with breaks inbetween to keep the ride interesting. Good opportunities to stop for coffee breaks.
My favourite quick afternoon ride. nice and close to home.
A great tour trip. Outstanding ocean views and mountain twisties.
Cruisy loop down the TT at Bald Knob to Peachester, up over Bellthorpe and down Postmans Track to Connondale, little bypass through farm lands into Kenilworth then up the Obi to Mapleton.
Good mix of tight turns up and down the mountains, as well as good long rolling turns with amazing scenery
Nice Cruise from BP Forest Glenn, Slab to Cooroy, then Kin Kin section with nice twisties, good pub at Kin Kin, Cedar Pocket section to Gympie can have gravel patches over road use caution, pass through Gympie and cruise the towns of the Mary Valley, Caution through Moy Pocket Rd blind crests and quarry trucks on weekdays, up the Obi Obi and back to Forest Glenn BP. Plenty of places for Lunch or Coffee, Pubs etc. Take a few stops and make a day of it or easy half day cruise.
Near Mt Tamborine.
Great easy to intermediate ride you can do it as hard or easy as you like . Good scenery through country and towns . Mt mee can have a few boys in blue on it so take care across there. But a relaxing ride to the mint like / Maleny ridge at 425 above sea level it can be a nice cool trip . Enjoy.
Nice little weekend day trip ... Stop at kenilworth cheese factory & nice feed at bakery
Nice roads, beautiful scenery
